Pivot Hub

We’re launching a new research center to Prevent harms through discovery and innovation, called the Pivot Hub! The overarching mission of the Pivot Hub is to revolutionize how we think about preventing healthcare-associated harm through training, collaboration with healthcare systems, and research.

The Pivot Hub will expand the pool of investigative teams who are equipped to develop novel, externally funded programs of research in preventing harm and provide the infrastructure for healthcare system collaborations. The theme for this Hub is “building partnerships among clinicians, healthcare systems, and researchers to illuminate practices that are safe and eradicate those that are not.”

Current Upcoming Events and Activities

We hold monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of every month during the academic year to discuss challenges and successes in using video reflexive ethnography, and share the most recent literature on the topic. As a resource for Pivot Hub members, we will hold mock study sections (upon request) or review grants focused on patient safety that emphasize innovative qualitative methods such as video reflexive ethnography.
